About Me

Karen Martinez, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 8 years of experience in working with individuals and families to support healing, growth, and connection. I earned my Master’s degree in Social work from Portland State University in 2018. Since that time I have had the privilege of working with diverse individuals ranging from children and families to young adults and adults. I have a wide range of experience working with individuals in different settings. My experience includes working with youth and families involved with Juvenile Justice, survivors of sexual trauma and domestic violence as well as providing mental health services in a primary care setting. I am passionate about serving the Latinx community and providing culturally responsive mental health services. I enjoy using narrative therapy as I believe that people are the experts of their own lives. My practice with clients involves being trauma informed and working in partnership to help achieve well being and harmony.

I know that trusting someone with your story can feel scary, being vulnerable is not easy to do. I strive to create an inclusive space for you that feels safe to be yourself. Together we can work towards healing and recovery.

About Nino

Nino, Support DOGGO

Nino is a 1 year old Terrier and Malti poo mix that is interning at Liberacion Counseling. Although he can’t ask you, “how does that make you feel?” Nino is able to help people feel better through his cuddles. When Nino is not busy guarding the office and being a good boy, he loves snacks, chasing squirrels, and dressing up in different outfits and costumes. He was recently voted “best dressed” in the office! Don’t let Nino’s size fool you, he might be tiny but he is a mighty protector and filled with lots of love to share with his future patients.
